Kuwait - Mubasher: Warba Bank’s board has decided to issue sukuk with a maximum value of $250 million to increase the bank’s capital, according to a statement on Tuesday.
The Tier 1 sukuk issuance will be classified as instruments under Basel III, but only after the approval from regulatory authorities.
Warba leads Kuwaiti banks in terms of capital adequacy, with 26.3%.
