Waves platform, Dubai Blockchain Center ink MoU at GITEX 2019

UAE – Mubasher: Waves Platform, a global blockchain-based solutions provider, announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dubai Blockchain Center during the 39 edition of GITEX Technology Week 2019.

The MoU was signed by CEO of Waves Platform and Waves Enterprise Sasha Ivanov and CEO of Dubai Blockchain Center Marwan Alzarouni, according to a press release.

Under the MoU, the two parties will work jointly to develop synergies across areas of common interest to promote knowledge transfer in blockchain technology through training courses, workshops, conferences, educational programmes, and research.

Sasha Ivanov commented: “We are very proud to start working with Dubai Blockchain Center within MENA region and increase the level of cooperation in all areas of knowledge and education that are of common interest. Besides educational programmes, among the potential areas of interaction is the Smart Dubai initiative.”

There is no doubt that this new cooperation will open up new horizons for both parties, and its benefits will expand the UAE’s knowledge-based economy,” Marwan Alzarouni said.

On 15 May 2018, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, opened Dubai Blockchain Center, the first hub of its kind in the Middle East, with the aim to educate and inspire the global community about real-world benefits of blockchain technology.

It is worth noting that the 39th edition of GITEX Technology Week 2019 took place at the Dubai World Trade Center from 6 to 10 October 2019.
