Cairo – Mubasher: The Western Desert currently accounts for 60% of Egypt’s crude oil output, the petroleum minister said on Wednesday.
The recent discoveries at the Western Desert will encourage foreign companies to boost their oil explorations, Tarek El-Molla added in a statement.
The minister indicated that crude oil production will grow rapidly in the coming period due to the accelerated oil discoveries.
This came on the sidelines of the general assembly meeting of Agiba Petroleum to approve the company’s budget scheme for fiscal year 2019/2020.
