UAE - Mubasher: Yahsat, the UAE’s leading satellite services operator, has invested AED 2 billion in building Thuraya 4-NGS, the next generation mobile telecommunications system, Abu Dhabi media office reported.
Yahsat will cooperate with Airbus which was selected to build Thuraya 4-NGS that aims to provide telecommunication solutions for the government and commercial sectors in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Southern America, and Australia.
The 12-metre L-band antenna will also drive leadership across strategic product lines, including maritime, Internet of Things (IoT), and data solutions.
Meanwhile, Thuraya's capabilities in Mobile Satellite Solutions (MSS) will be reinforced.
The satellite will have on-board processing that provides advanced routine flexibility of up to 3,200 channels.
