Zaha Hadid Architects wins $6.5bn Arada deal

Dubai - Mubasher: UAE developer Arada has awarded a contract worth $6.5 billion to UK company Zaha Hadid Architects.

The contract covers the design of the Central Hub of Aljada community project in Sharjah.

Development costs of Aljada’s Central Hub is worth $272 million (AED 1 billion), but this does not include the price of the land plot, Construction Week Online.

Arada expects to break ground in May 2018, Construction Week Online said.

It added that “the main construction contract has not been awarded.still, Phase 1 is expected to be done by the end of the year. Phase 2 will wrap up in Q4 2019. Phase 3 by the close of 2020.”

This contract aims to capture the shape a water droplet makes when it hits the ground.
