Riyadh – Mubasher: Dawiyat Telecom Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mobile Telecommunications Company Saudi Arabia (Zain KSA) to deliver fibre optic services to homes.
The deal comes under the Kingdom’s initiatives, including the National Transformation Programme (NTP) 2020 and the Vision 2030, to accelerate the spread of broadband services, according to a statement.
This step is aimed at providing advanced telecommunications and information technology services including providing homes with broadband services, television broadcasting, smart home services, and advanced digital services, Dawiyat CEO Ahmed Sindi stated.
In October, SEC signed a letter of intent with Zain KSA to benefit from its fibre optic network, and to carry out joint marketing for their services. The deal also involved providing new sites to establish towers and communication infrastructure centres.
