Mubasher: Mobile Telecommunications (Zain) reported a decline of 1.5% in profits during the second quarter of 2017 compared to the same period a year ago.
Earnings shrank to KWD 44.06 million ($145.63 million) in Q2-17 from KWD 44.72 million ($147.81 million) in Q2-16, according to a bourse statement issued on Sunday.
During the first six months of 2017, profits grew by 0.4% to KWD 82.29 million from KWD 81.97 million in H1-16.
In the first quarter this year, Zain recorded a rise of 2.6% in profits to KWD 38.23 million from KWD 37.25 million in the same quarter a year ago.
At the stock level, Zain closed Sunday’s session 0.91% higher at 443 fils.
