Mubasher: Mobile Telecommunications (Zain) is currently in preliminary negotiations with Swiftel International, according to a bourse disclosure on Sunday.
Zain added that it is also studying all the available opportunities in sectors that can enhance marketing and distribution in the local market.
Earlier on Sunday, a local newspaper said that Zain has acquired a 50% equity of a number of companies owned by Hamed Mohamed Al Wazzan and Partners Co.
