Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting yesterday with Eni’s Chief Executive Officer, Claudio Descalzi, Cairo to review the extensive activity performed by the company in Egypt, according to a press release published on Wednesday.
In 2016, Eni ran total investments in Egypt worth $2.7 billion, the PR revealed.
The meeting showed that activities of the Zohr field are progressing in line with the expectations, and the production startup is confirmed by end of 2017.
Meanwhile, they also discussed the Nooros’ development, which is forecast to produce 25 MSCM/d (172,000 boepd) by the end of January 2017.
Eni has been present in Egypt since 1954, operating through its subsidiary IEOC. The company is the main producer in the country with an equity production of approximately 230,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
