Riyadh – Mubasher: Zoom has launched a new data center in Saudi Arabia, reinforcing the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, according to a press release.
The launch was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), attended by Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, Governor of the Digital Government Authority (DGA), alongside representatives from Saudi Aramco.
Located at center3, the new facility builds on Zoom’s expanding presence in Saudi Arabia following its $75 million investment commitment announced last year.
The investment is focused on advancing AI-driven innovation and developing the digital infrastructure required to support the technology’s rapid adoption, particularly as the Kingdom marks 2026 as the “Year of AI.”
Zoom’s existing regional data center, established in 2023, enables customers to meet local data residency requirements. The new launch further enhances the company’s ability to serve government entities, enterprises, and operators of critical national infrastructure with secure, locally hosted services.
The expansion is anticipated to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional digital hub while supporting growing demand for advanced communications, cloud, and AI-enabled solutions.
Vice President of Zoom for the Middle East, Türkiye, Africa, and Pakistan (METAP), Mohannad Al Kalash, commented: “Saudi Arabia is one of the most forward‑looking digital markets in the region, and we’re seeing remarkable momentum here. The new data center bolsters our ability to support customers locally and demonstrates Zoom’s belief in the country’s vision for a more connected, AI‑powered future.”
