Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: du and Etisalat have paid AED 7.12 billion worth of royalty fees to the Federal Government, according to a bourse statement.
Etisalat has paid AED 5.10 billion in royalties in 2016, down 22.1% from AED 6.55 billion in 2015.
du has paid AED 2.11 billion by the end of 2016, a decline of 9.8% from AED 1.921 billion a year earlier.
Listed telecom operators posted a 3.4% rise year-on-year in profits to AED 10.36 billion in 2016.
The telecom sector generated revenues of AED 65.08 billion in 2016, a growth of 2.2% from AED 63.66 billion in 2015.
