Cairo – Mubasher: thyssenkrupp Elevator has equipped four new metro stations in Cairo with 57 escalators, including 17 escalators at Heliopolis Square Station.
In addition, another twelve escalator units will be installed at El Nozha station, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
The German industrial giant also services and maintains 116 elevators and 316 escalators in five service buildings as well as 36 out of the current 64 metro stations.
“thyssenkrupp Elevator is really proud to be part of the Cairo metro’s rapid development. Especially in a metropolis like this, an efficient transport system and increased access is crucial for countless people but also many businesses,” the company’s CEO Peter Walker noted.
Moreover, the German elevator manufacturer delivered above 1,200 elevators, escalators, and moving walks to the upcoming metro stations in Riyadh and Doha, in addition to servicing about 800 units in Dubai metro.
